This is a quick tip video sharing some ideas around Apple TV, Video Mirroring, and iOS devices. I haven’t tried this in a classroom with a ton of students, so not sure how it plays out… but that is on the agenda for proof of concept. NOTE: before you watch… this was shot really quickly, on an iPhone, and with very little edits.
Here is what I do NOT know as of yet:
- What are the resource constraints video mirroring to Apple TV from iOS devices places on your wireless network (how much bandwidth is being used by the video/audio push to display)?
- In an enterprise network design (dhcp, VLan’s, and more) how well does the Apple TV work? Is it hard to set up?
- What is the best way to manage who is pushing to the projection device or TV (HDMI only – by the way)?
- If putting a password on the mirroring, how does that play out?
There is a ton still to research here… but I think it is worth it for sure!
