I’m pretty confident that all really good conversations can be punctuated with YouTube clips. You should do it more often. When a colleague sends you a question or idea in an email or IM, send them pack a response that really turns up the heat and spices it up a bit. It really does add some flare & it certainly shows your moxy and digital prowess.
Here’s a hint to get you started, along with some great examples below. You can even link to a specific start time in the video to better deliver the point. For example… Conversation: “How many of our employees will get a raise this year, due to the business making record profits” … Your answer: (click this link) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcI-rHO0yko#t=28s
Notice the “#t=28s” …or it could be something like “#t=31m08s” on the end of the url. That link will take you 31 minutes and 8 seconds into that video. Or in the Oprah example 28 seconds in the video. Linking to a particular minute and second can be really helpful! (resource)
